How to Make Your Own CNC Wood Tile

The CNC machine is an inexpensive way to make wood tiles.

The process can be made in a variety of ways, but the wood grain that you choose is very important.

CNC wood grain is a great option because it is both durable and has a high surface area. 

For this tutorial, we will be using the tile I purchased for the base of this blog.

The wood grain was chosen based on my previous experience with the product.

The tiles will be hand finished by the artist to make sure that they look as good as possible. 

We are using a standard tile for this tutorial.

The tile can be purchased from CNC Machine Shop for $20.00, and can be ordered at Cnc Machine Shop for $40.00.

The tile is a standard 4 inch wide, 7 inch deep tile.

This tile is available for a $10.00 plus shipping. 

I am using the 4 inch tile here.

I also purchased a few other standard sizes from the same manufacturer.

This makes this tile a good choice for people who don’t want to have to spend a lot of money on their tile. 

When choosing the tile, I would recommend using the standard size tile for the tile.

It is the easiest to cut out and the easiest for the artist to work on. 

Before you begin, make sure you have a solid surface to work with.

The surface area of the tile is important.

If you have any issues cutting out the tile on your work surface, you may have to sand it down to a smooth surface.

I am using a 1/4 inch sandpaper and a 3/4 ounce sandpaper. 

If you want to make a tile, start with the base and then work your way up the tile to the edges.

You can then add in the decorative elements like carved wood and woodwork. 

Once you have the base cut out, start on the decorative sections of the tile and make sure the woodgrain pattern is as smooth as possible so that the tile will fit snugly. 

You can use any standard size tiles you have lying around (I used my own tile) for this step. 

To start cutting the decorative wood, simply hold a router blade perpendicular to the grain of the wood. 

Start by pressing down on the wood with the router until you have enough space to cut the wood without tearing. 

After the wood is cut, slide the router blade to the sides and make a mark at the grain.

You want to be able to slide the wood around to create a slant in the grain so that it does not tear as easily. 

Continue cutting and sliding until the grain is smooth. 

With the router blades at the sides of the grain, make a cut out for the decorative section.

The cut out should be just a few inches across. 

Now that you have your cutting board, you can make your marks by sliding it across the grain to create a flat, flat edge. 

There are a few ways to make this cut. 

First, you could cut the wood out with a small router or with a large flat-edged blade. 

Next, you would use a piece of 1/2 inch x 1/8 inch aluminum tape. 

Another method would be to cut a lengthwise line at the edge of the cutting board. 

This would give you a slight “edge” of the grain that is flush with the edge on the cutting surface. 

Then you could do a little sanding on the edges of the cut to remove any sharp edges and smooth the edges back up. 

Finally, you might want to sand down the surface of the base to give it a smooth finish. 

Use a 1-1/2 yard of 1-inch thick 1/16 inch aluminum pipe for this. Place the cutting board in a vise and carefully lift the bar to create an opening that can hold the bar up.

Make sure you do not bend the bar, as this will create a mess when you use it later. 

Apply a coat of varnish or a thin layer of lacquer over the cutting area.

If using varnishing, sand the edges and the edges of your tiles. 

Keep sanding and polishing the tiles until they look smooth and even. 

Using a 3mm drill bit, drill through the wood into the tile and use the same drill bit to cut it out. 

Tape the tile together to create the base for the project.

This will be the first tile I am making.
